All of us at Doodie Stark are beyond excited to share the news that we have been highly commended in the prestigious Sussex Heritage Trust Award for Commercial Buildings 2024! We have been celebrated for our outstanding commitment to preserving and enhancing the architectural heritage of Sussex with our renovations of The Old Bakehouse in Lindfield.
The Sussex Heritage Trust Awards are renowned for recognising projects that exemplify outstanding standards of conservation, design, craftsmanship and preservation. Our highly commended project, The Old Bakehouse restoration, is a testament to our commitment to blending historical preservation with contemporary use. The project involved the meticulous restoration and adaptive reuse of this historic Grade II building, transforming it into a vibrant commercial space while preserving its architectural integrity. Through careful restoration and deconstruction of original architectural elements, we ensured the building’s historical character was maintained. The Old Bakehouse is now characterised by its distinctive brickwork, woodwork and striking facade.
Receiving this commendation is a significant honour, and we are grateful to the Sussex Heritage Trust for the recognition of our project. We were committed to preserving a piece of Sussex’s architectural history and honouring the building’s past. We would also like to extend our thanks to the dedicated team of architects, craftsmen and partners who contributed to the project’s success.
A very big thank you to the team involved in The Old Bakehouse...
